Military Heritage Collection of North Texas
Founder Mark Witham started the collection eight years ago. His vision was to create a museum that would teach people about military history while creating a sense of community. He began by bringing working military vehicles to the area. The museum is now an interactive museum where visitors can get up close and personal with the military’s past. Check out this piece.
The museum has expanded recently, and now offers more space to exhibit the artifacts from the local military community. With its new location, the museum aims to become a major military history destination for North Texas. The collection’s mission is to provide visitors with the history of military service and the personal stories of military members. Currently, it employs one person and receives donations of military-related artifacts.
The museum’s success has been fueled by the community’s interest and support of the museum. Many members of the county’s commissions and commissioners attended the dedication ceremony. The museum is open to the public, and the community is welcome to visit. The museum is also a community hub for the military community in North Texas. View More.
Originally, the Fort Worth Military Museum was the idea of a group of military history collectors. Founder Tyler Alberts opened the museum in 2008 and leased a 1,000 square foot space in Fort Worth’s Cultural District. The museum’s collection has grown steadily over the past decade. The museum relocated to the Stockyards area of Fort Worth in 2017 after the outbreak of the H1N1 pandemic.
This museum contains a unique collection of artifacts from the Texas Military. It includes weapons, uniforms, personal items, film, and photographs. The museum also features battle dioramas and life-size environments to show the story of Texas Military Forces. The exhibits span a wide variety of conflicts, from World War I to World War II, Korea, Peace Keeping Deployments, and the Global War on Terror.
The Military Heritage Center is a new building that honors the history of military service, including the contributions of citizen soldiers. Interested donors can sponsor naming opportunities for the center or donate funds in honor of a loved one. The center will also host an educational program for the community to learn more about the military’s legacy.
The Military Heritage Center also has an exhibit centered on the Battle of the Bulge. The exhibition was originally proposed by Belgian officials and was on display there from December 2014 to June 2016. It is a great tribute to all World War II veterans.
